With a full house in the tasting room dedicated to international wines, the journalist Eduardo Brethauer dictated a master class on the new Chilean wine scene at the Vinitaly fair in Verona.

With the title "Un eletrizzantte (e inespettato) addaggio di Cile", the Chilean journalist toured the most traditional valleys of Chile, showing an unknown face of Chilean viticulture, which rescues forgotten grapes, new and innovative styles and extreme terroirs.

The participants of the master class, among them journalists and international traders, were amazed with the quality of the wines, but above all for their marked character and identity.

“It was a trip through the valleys of Curicó, Maule and Itata and their modern reinterpretations of strains such as Cinsault, Carignan and País. Chilean wines are much more than good, nice and cheap. Behind them, there is a very interesting story, but you have to know how to tell it," said the journalist.

The participating wines were:

  • Laberinto Cenizas de Laberinto Sauvignon Blanc 2018
  • Maturana Wines Naranjo Torontel 2018
  • De Martino Viejas Tinajas Cinsault 2016
  • Garage Wine Co Lot 65 Field Blend Sauzal 2014
  • Viñedos Puertas Parnaso 2012
  • Massoc Frères El Macanudo País 2016
