This British series is a historical drama, inspired by a family of gangsters who amassed a fortune during the 1920s in Birmingham, even making deals with Al Capone to export gin during the Prohibition era. With Cillian Murphy as the leader of the Peaky Blinders, a brotherhood that was characterized by sewing a razor blade on its caps, it is one of the best series I’ve seen in recent years, after the void left by The Sopranos and The Wire.
